What is Miss Gay Illinois
America?
The Miss Gay Illinois America
Pageant is a competition for female impersonators residing
within the state of Illinois, or those outside of Illinois, but within the
recognized Metropolitan
areas of Chicago or the Quad Cities (specifically, the following counties in
Indiana: Jasper,
Lakes, Newton, and Porter; the following counties in Wisconsin: Kenosha; the
following
counties in Iowa: Scott). Contestants must be male, and at least twenty-one (21)
years of
age. Contestants cannot be on, or have been on, any type of hormones. Absolutely
no
breast implants, cosmetic surgery, silicone, or body enhancing implants below
the neck (or
any other similar type product-chemical) injections will be allowed before or
during the
contestant's reign.
The pageant is an official preliminary to the Miss Gay America Pageant. Both the
winner
and the first alternate of Miss Gay Illinois America are required to attend the
Miss Gay
America Pageant (to be held in St. Louis, MO from October 28 through November 1,
2009). The Miss Gay Illinois America Pageantry has been away from the MGA system
for
several years. It is the goal of Precious Stones Productions to make Miss Gay
Illinois
America one of the most respected state MGA preliminaries in the nation. While
the Miss
Gay Illinois America 2009 pageant is organized as an open state preliminary, it
is the
expectation that both the promoter and winner will work to organize a series of
city
preliminaries, and that our 2010 pageant will be a closed state pageant
